The nearest and most convenient port is Cherbourg, upon leaving the terminal follow the signs for “Mont St. Michel” once out of Cherbourg you will see signposts for Barneville-Carteret.  Turn right at the turning marked Barneville-Carteret and follow the road straight into the town.  Follow the signpost for “Semaphore” up the hill and at the top turn right (signposted Ferme de Carteret) If you have your keys drive straight to the second hamlet, and enjoy your holiday, if you need to pick the keys up stop at the first hamlet at the first house and Mme Servot the guardian will supply them.

Should you be using another port use a map since there are two or three easy routes to Carteret, but follow directions from the town.
